::REVIEW:: Worst Beauty Products of 2016

Welcome to the end of 2016!! I can’t believe this year is over already.. This year was nuts! I had an internship at an accounting firm, went overseas for the first time, got my first full time job and graduated college! As it was an eventful year for me personally it was also an eventful year for my skin. I bought enormous amounts of beauty products that really upped my game but I also found some serious duds that make me want my money back.

Here are the three worst products I tried in 2016:

Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum. I’m not sure I’m even going to post a separate review for this atrocity. It is a hair serum meant to tame fly-aways and calm the look of frizzy hair. It kind of not really did the trick..LOL. It was a really thick serum that made my entire head look greasy. It was very fragrant and left the greasy residue all over my fingers. I had to wash my hands twice just to get the stickiness off my fingers. When you’re in a rush to perfect your hair this will just add time to your routine.

If you have very dry and curly hair I see how this could work for you.. but I have slightly wavy hair and usually just straighten it.

 

Does it work? Sure. My fly-aways are gone yes, but I look like I haven’t showered in three days.

It was such a pain to deal with..you’re better off sticking to plain faucet water to tame fly-aways and frizzy hair. There’s no use in buying this. Its like pouring liquid butter on your head and hoping for the best.

What I have here is the Holika Holika Foxy Eyeliner in 08 Sherbet Pink.

BRO. This eyeliner is in my trash bin right now. Seriously. I threw it away this week because it was so hopeless. I don’t even know what happened. The first try it applied pretty well on my inner corners (see picture on the left and below) and it was a subtle shimmery pink that added an extra glow to my eyes~

Everything after that went to hell. The product afterwards would not come out! It was a pencil but I guess it hardened and so it just became wax that only showed up on a hard surface like paper.

After numerous tries to swatch it on my hands I rubbed it on paper and it came out in clumps. like pieces of the pencil would just break off the pencil.. I tried sharpening it over and over with the built-in sharpener and my own sharpener. Nothing. Miserable.

I was so blown. I kept it for 3 months hoping one day it would magically come back to life. No dice. It’s so infuriating when you buy something that becomes useless after one try. I don’t know if the cap was loose and that’s why it dried up or if I just had a faulty eyeliner..Either way Holika Holika has failed me.

My last fail product of 2016 is the Maybelline Expert Eyes Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover.

Bottom line- greasy messy liquid. Ineffective makeup remover. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Blech. Thankfully this year there were only about 3 duds of the 50+ makeup items I bought this year. Yayy~
