::REVIEW:: Holika Holika Lazy & Easy Smooth Egg Skin Peeling Gel

PhotoGrid_1483316855177Look at the dead skin cells & debris! LOL

Happy Sunday!! Today I will be reviewing Holika Holika’s  Gudetama Lazy & Easy Smooth Egg Skin Peeling Gel! This egg-shaped product is sold online at Amazon && kbeauty retailers and sells for $13 which is pretty consistent for the price I bought it for when I was in Korea. 🙂

Some background- Gudetama is a Japanese animation character known for its sad personality and wild popularity. You see this egg on bookbags, skincare, notebooks, errrthing. Why? I don’t know, but it’s kind of cute~ lol. I actually didn’t know this little egg was a sad egg until I googled it..lol

Anywayys the product itself is a peeling gel that contains egg whites (trendy skincare substance) to remove all the impurities from the surface of your skin. It’s also supposed to help tone and whiten the skin. I’m pretty pale so I cannot speak for those claims..lol Now when you hear peeling that doesn’t sound very pleasant but it’s not as intimidating as it sounds. Its more like a gentle rub. It doesn’t hurt at all and it’s actually fun to see all the debris coming off your face.

PhotoGrid_1483316950737The container itself holds about 140 ml which can last you anywhere from 6 months to a year. Since this is a type of exfoliator  you shouldn’t use this more than once a week. Twice if you have extenuating circumstances or have very oily skin. Even then I don’t suggest it. Reason why is because doing this type of deep cleansing too often strips your skin of its natural oils and your face will produce more and more sebum to compensate = oilinesssssss!

Isn’t the packaging adorable? Like Humpty Dumpty or something~ If you open the lid casing you can see the little egg yolk~

Kay, so first things first- actually getting the gel out of the bottle is a toughy. It’s an odd shape to try and squeeze and I always end up squeezing too much product 🙁 You really only need a nickel sized amount for your face. I suggest squeeze a little at a time and rub this on a part of your face at a time. Like squeeze a little and only do your forehead and nose. Then squeeze a little more and lather on your cheeks and chin. The gel dries pretty fast so it’s hard to cleanse thoroughly with the amount of time you’re given. A few circles of lathering and you’ll soon see all of the little bits of dead skin and dirt coming off. It is so refreshing to see the fruits of your labor up close LOL

WARNING: UP CLOSE SHOT OF MY HAND AFTER USING THE GEL. hehehe

See that?! And that was not long after I showered that day…so yeahh… soap doesn’t get everything off of you~

Other good news: This gel doesn’t have an overpowering smell and it lasts a long time. My face feels squeeky clean after one use and I love itttt 🙂

All in all I love this peeling gel from Holika Holika. I feel like they are a very underrated brand in Korean beauty~

Oh! I have a sneak peek of my upcoming post on my cleanser collection…!
