::REVIEW:: SkinFood Peach Sake Emulsion!

::REVIEW:: SkinFood Peach Sake Emulsion!NEW REVIEW! I feel like it’s been awhile since I’ve done an in-depth Hunnyybase review but here we are! SkinFood Peach Sake Emulsion! I was bored at Ulta when I got this~~ This comes in a line of sake-related line but each product was so expensive I could only afford to get one of them~ For those who don’t know, sake is a Japanese wine that is thought to clear skin by helping your blood circulate~

$15 at Ulta (available online as well and other online retailers)

135 ml

::REVIEW:: SkinFood Peach Sake Emulsion!The front label states: “Food Therapy- Special food ingredients for the skin. Contains many nutritive ingrediens such as fresh plants, fruits, etc To keep our skin healthy.” Nice try Skinfood, the explanation was a bit shoddy but I’ll give you a pass if the ingredient list checks out.

With that said let’s move onto the ingredient list!

Water, Phenyl Trimethicone, Alcohol Denat., Mineral Oil, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Isohexadecane, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Sorbitan Stearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Argania Spinosa Kernel Extract, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Propylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Sucrose Cocoate, Oleanolic Acid, Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extract, Butylene Glycol, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Disodium Edta, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Silica, D&C Red No.33(Ci 17200), Fd&C Yellow No.5(Ci 19140), Fd&C Yellow No.6(Ci 15985).

DAMN this emulsion has a billion ingredients!! Running this list through my hunnyybase took hours but overall I give this product a solid 8. Here’s why:

Phenyl Trimethicone – Conditioning agent makes skin feel like silk and great for dry skin!

Propylparaben – This is a common ingredient in cosmetics but this paraben mimics estrogen (when we already have estrogen in our bodies so it could create side-effects of having high hormone levels)

Fragrance – Can be harmful to sensitive skin

PhotoGrid_1514775229373Even though there are two negative ingredients on the list, considering the sheer amount of ingredients and the fact that these two are at the bottom of the list means that even though they can bring side-effects, it is in a small quantity and there are much more great ingredients that outweigh the negatives.

My experience with the product:

I have been using this product for months and I am only halfway through the bottle – yay! The emulsion is a milky white color and has a very liquid consistency. It applies very smoothly and smells yummy! Does smell a bit like alcohol but that’s the point 🙂

PhotoGrid_1514775153172The bottle itself is VERY heavy. It’s made of glass so be very careful when handling this product! I actually don’t have many complaints with this product.. After going through the ingredients I am even more convinced that I didn’t waste my $15 for a crappy product. I am happy! Will I rebuy? Hopefully! I’d like to try the Peach Sake Serum next!

Thanks so much for reading guys!!
