::REVIEW:: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion!

Hi ::REVIEW:: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion!.jpgLoves! NEW REVIEW!! Today’s review will be an in-depth hunnyybase review on Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+! I purchased this travel size at Ulta last year and I just finished the bottle!

Details:

This is the travel size 15 ml bottle and costs $5. The full size bottle is 125 ml, comes in a pump bottle and costs $28.

Claims:

  • “Genius yellow moisturizer hydrates all day.
  • Slips on easily, absorbs quickly.
  • Helps strengthen skin’s own moisture barrier, so more moisture stays in.
  • Skin that holds onto moisture has a youthful-looking glow.”

Directions:

Use twice a day, morning and night. Apply to face and throat all over, or where needed.  A little goes a long way. Massage a small pump of lotion into skin wherever it’s dry.

Ingredients:

Water\Aqua\Eau , Mineral Oil\Paraffinum Liquidum\Huile Minérale , Glycerin , Petrolatum , Stearic Acid , Glyceryl Stearate , Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil , Urea , Lanolin Alcohol , Triethanolamine , Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract\Extrait D’Orge , Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract , Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake , Propylene Glycol Dicaprate , Sodium Hyaluronate , Butylene Glycol , Pentylene Glycol , Trisodium Edta , Phenoxyethanol , Yellow 6 (Ci 15985) , Yellow 5 (Ci 19140) , Red 33 (Ci 17200)

Hunnyybase notes:

I’ve never seen a disclaimer on a product’s ingredients before but Clinique legit has a disclaimer at the bottom of their ingredients list saying the list is “subject to change” as time goes on. Like whoa.. okayy. Good to know I guess? lol.

So the good news is, no ingredient pops up red in my hunnyybase search! That means there are no harmful or widely discredited ingredients in this product! The bad news is there are some concerns with the yellow text ingredients. These are the yellow and red synthetic pigments used to color the lotion. Now, there is a lot of information out there on whether or not synthetic pigments are safe in cosmetics but for me, the jury is still out. The data is just not conclusive yet and we don’t know exactly how or where Clinique got these pigments so I just leave it as a slight cause for concern, similar to the way I consider fragrance in cosmetics-not the best but not the worst ingredient.

::REVIEW:: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion! My personal experience using this lotion was sub-par. I always have this notion that Clinique makes really greasy products and this lotion just supported my notion LOL. It has  a medium level of thickness but isn’t light and airy like most lotions are. It feels like if I used blotting paper after applying this lotion, the blotting paper would be COVERED in grease. I don’t know, the lotion just sits on my face after application instead of seamlessly sinking in and it’s just not my cup of tea.

Conclusion:

Did it live up to it’s claims? Well, it didn’t keep my face hydrated all day and DOES NOT absorb quickly at all..  However!! The ingredient list is pretty outstanding. I am impressed because after so many Hunnyybase reviews this is the first product with NO red ingredients at all! With all that being said, I wouldn’t buy this product again and I’m glad I didn’t get the full sized version 🙂

Until next time!!
