::Hunnyy:: Is Inner Beauty Overrated?

Good morning bunnies~ Recently I realized that I don’t really mention inner beauty at all on my site. It’s not because I don’t think it’s important, it’s probably because I feel like it’s a given? I believe it’s already such an integral part of beauty that it goes without saying. But maybe I should talk about it more. Not everyone thinks the same way I do so maybe we need that reminder.

The good thing is, in this day and age inner beauty and mental health has a lot more value than it did decades ago. When I was growing up (not decades ago) mental health was probably at its’ worst in my opinion. When I was a teenager, it was the times when anorexic celebrities were the trend, when Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were the size of a toothpick. Remember those days? Splashed all over tabloids of how skinny they looked and having curves were a bad thing. Me, being a chubby girl, did not feel very confident during these times. One of the trends was also those really disturbing pictures on Tumblr of dangerously thin girls with huge thigh gaps…girls self-harming themselves in different shapes of hearts or words and then posting these pictures.. I had a best friend who was into these things so I saw these more often than I’d like to admit.

In any case I think being healthy and happy is the most important thing in life- if you aren’t happy with yourself, no matter how much makeup or clothes you buy, it’ll mean absolutely nothing at the end of the day. I know, it’s easier said than done. If I tried to tell my teenage self these things, she’d probably just put on her headphones and ignore me. Things like this is hard to convey because it’s supposed to come within and it comes with time. Some people take years to feel comfortable in their own skin. For me personally, most days I feel great about myself and some days I don’t and I wallow for a bit.

At the end of the day, all those cliches about mental health and loving yourself are true. There’s a reason they’re cliches. I still think it should be said and I wanna put more effort in mentioning it more on my posts moving forward ❤

That being said, I’m here if any of you ever wanna talk 🙂

Thanks for reading lovelies~ I hope my words and intentions came across well lol. I have a history of being too curt and being too harsh. I think I might even write more about inner thoughts and feelings in addition to my beauty posts ❤

xoxo, hunnyy
