Those of you who transferred from WordPress.com to .org –

Did you lose your followers/subscribers?? Did your view count  actually go up??

I’m seriously considering it but I can’t find actual reviews  on how well it works. I can find tutorials on how to do it but no testimonies on the effects of it.

Lemme  know in the comments below please! Any feedback is much appreciated!!

    1. workflow? so your workflow changed and some of your subscribers didnt like your new content?

  1. Yeah, it’s so hard to find good info, I moved to .org two years ago. You won’t lose your followers or comments but you’ll lose the likes. The views only go up if you work for them being self-hosted gives you more freedom to run your blog and use Pinterest to get more traffic and you can add ads.
I wrote a post a few years back, it’s not strictly switching but it might help you a little bit: https://blushydarling.com/2018/03/18/bloggingresources/ but let me know if you have any other questions

    1. WOW thanks so much for commenting!!! i read your post and sooo relieved switching to org will still let u be on the wordpress reader!!

      1. You are so welcome, let me know if you need any more help and shameless plug if you choose siteground maybe use my affiliate in that post 😂😉

      2. thanks!! can i ask a personal question? is it worth switching monetary-wise? idk if its worth all the effort if it wont change my site muchh

      3. Sure you can ask, I think it is, with a self hosted site you can work with Google Adsense and get some money but honestly it mostly depends on what you want to do with your blog. I knew from the beginning I wanted it to be my job for the rest of my life so I was willing to invest (it’s still not my main job and I’ve been self hosted for two years) but it’s very time consuming and you have to have a strong motivation. If you think you can do it, then yes it’s worth it.

      4. You’re amazing! I want this to be my life too and I’m already paying for the .com so I think I should switch to .org!

      5. You are so welcome, I wish I had someone helping me when I was doing it, I had a couple of melt downs so if I can avoid those to people I’m happy to help. Let me know if you have any other question either here or on other socials I’m always open to chat 😘

      6. You can find me everywhere @blushydarling 😉
