Let’s call a spade a spade. For the average individual, hearing about the Dow, retirement savings and interest rates are boring!
A lot of people would rather spend their time watching Netflix or youtube videos of slime lol. I am guilty of both sometimes!
But as I grow older and financial situations come to my forefront, I started to gain a lot of interest in making, saving and investing money.
With my interest growing I tried to listen to various podcasts at work and 99% of these podcasts are SOOOO dreadfully boring.. I see why the general public does not concern themselves in these topics! It is not material that sucks you in and keeps you in a youtube hole for 8 hours lol. A lot of the these financial podcasts from huge companies and are recorded like an awful news channel – the podcasters don’t have any inflection in their tone of voice so it all sounds monotone.
With these podcasts, it all goes in one ear and out the other with me. It sounds like the most dull lecture from the most dull professor. I truly believe these companies should invest in getting a better speaker! With that said – I do have one recommendation if anyone wants to start listening to financial news – Robinhood’s Snacks Daily. Hands down the best finance podcast for two main reasons:
- The two hosts banter off each other and keep a lively tone throughout! They give 3 news stories every weekday that are short, concise and “easy to digest” (their slogan)
Definitely check these guys out! (not sponsored by the way).
If you were looking for a more personalized financial advice podcast I would suggest Dave Ramsey!
Other than those two podcasts I haven’t found one I listen to on a daily basis. But believe me, I’m trying!! If you have a long commute or a job like mine where you can listen to something, definitely plow through it will be worth it in the long run!!
Oh and ‘the Financial Diet’ on Youtube is mostly filler information.. really really basic information given in unnecessarily long videos.. in a 1 hour video you only get 2 minutes of useful information. But that’s just my opinion.
What do you guys think?
Any good resources you listen/watch?

Until next time!
